Long Stem Roses in Miami

Long stem roses are a classic choice for a reason: their elegant proportions allow the blooms to take center stage. At ARS MAGNUS in Miami, we treat a rose arrangement as more than a number of stems. Balance, color, opening stage, and presentation all shape the final impression.

How to choose long stem roses

Start with the occasion and the recipient's taste. Red roses make a striking romantic gesture, while white roses have a quiet, architectural elegance. Pink roses feel warm and celebratory; mixed tones can create a softer, more expressive arrangement. The best choice is the one that feels personal rather than dictated by a rule.

Does the number of roses matter?

A generous rose arrangement creates its impact through repetition and symmetry. Fifty long stem roses can feel refined and substantial, while larger arrangements are designed to make a dramatic entrance. Consider where the recipient will display the flowers and whether a hand-tied bouquet or arranged presentation suits that space.

How to help roses last longer

Place cut roses in a clean vase with fresh water. Remove any leaves that would sit below the waterline, recut stems with clean shears when appropriate, and keep flowers away from direct sunlight, ripening fruit, and air-conditioning drafts. Refresh the water regularly. Vase life varies with variety, freshness, and room conditions.

Florist's care notes: long stem roses

First hour: Unwrap the bouquet carefully, place stems in a thoroughly cleaned vase, and add fresh room-temperature water. Trim approximately half an inch (1–2 cm) from stems with clean, sharp shears before placing them in water, avoiding crushed stems. Remove foliage below the waterline.

Every one to two days: Check the water level, replace cloudy water, rinse the vase, and recut stems if needed. Keep the bouquet in a cool indoor spot away from direct afternoon sun, air-conditioning vents, and ripening fruit. If a pet may chew the arrangement, display flowers out of reach.

A florist's tip: Outer rose petals sometimes protect the inner bloom during transport and may look different from the center. Do not pull petals away indiscriminately: ask your florist if any protective petals should be removed.
